I could have written a nicely phrased paragraph on how shooting exclusively on 35mm is technically and artistically superior to digital, or how this is just my homage to a bygone era. How I strive to recapture the essence of life we have lost in this modern world, and how differently it was perceived by my parents' and grandparents' generation. To rekindle a lost connection to the past and embrace the carefree nostalgia of the 70s and 80s.
Instead I'll just tell the truth: one day I bought a film camera on Ebay because I thought it would be fun. I wanted to take photos of my friends at parties and then keep those photos the same way my mom kept hers in those old albums in the attic. I didn't realize it at the time but those people, friends, broke artists and writers, were the very essence of the life I thought had been
lost. These photos are what came after. I’m still shooting, still printing, still filling albums.
